The Project
The Victorian Government invested $34.9 million in the Sunshine Hospital emergency department redevelopment. The hospital project was designed to provide more people in the growing western suburbs with timely and world-class medical care.
The redevelopment has expanded and refurbished the emergency department, adding 65 new spaces, which is more than double the current capacity.
Sunshine Hospital’s emergency department is one of the busiest in Victoria. It treats around 65,000 patients each year. Once complete, Sunshine Hospital’s new emergency department will be able to treat an extra 59,000 patients each year.
As part of this upgrade, GJ Walker will supply a combination of ASH and Multizone AM air handling units (AHUs), alongside ALEX fan coil units (FCUs).

Located in the heart of Melbourne, Marvel Stadium has welcomed in excess of 42 million fans through the gates since opening in 2000. Renowned for regularly staging AFL, A-League and BBL action under the famous retractable roof, Marvel Stadium has also hosted some of the biggest international sporting and entertainment events such as UFC, Soccer World Cup Qualifiers, International Rugby Union tests, U2, Taylor Swift, Foo Fighters, Justin Timberlake, AC/DC, Bon Jovi and Andre Rieu.
The Marvel Stadium upgrade represents a $225 million investment by the Victorian Government, providing a unique opportunity to revitalise Marvel Stadium as both a world class sports and entertainment venue, and a day-to-day destination within the City of Melbourne.
As part of this upgrade GJ Walker supplied a combination of ASH air handling units and CMLH fan coil units. Complete with full AHRI certifications, they will also include EC fans, fitted lights wired to a switch and filters G4 and F8.
